About Pine Creek Services

North Saint Paul keeps a forty-four-foot snowman standing downtown all year long, which in January stops being a joke and starts being a promise. Pine Creek Services works the hours behind that promise — the two-in-the-morning push, headlights swinging over driveways off Highway 36 while the whole block sleeps through it. Storms here stack up fast against the older streets, where boulevards are narrow and there is nowhere easy to put what you move. Plowing, shoveling and ice control get done so that the first person out the door at six finds nothing to argue with. That clean apron of pavement at first light is the entire point of being awake.
