BW Caretakers

About BW Caretakers

Half the houses on these lakes are dark half the year, and someone still has to know what the weather did to them. BW Caretakers keeps that watch — plowing driveways off the township roads so an owner can roll in at nine on a February Friday to an open approach and clear steps, then mowing, trimming and tidying those same yards once the ice goes out and the docks go back in. Nisswa winters run long and hushed, and a plow working a side road at midnight is the sound of somebody's weekend being made possible. The warm months are the other half of it: grass in the sun, shade beds under the pines, the path to the water kept walkable. Caretaking in the plain sense of the word — a place looked after whether or not anyone is there to see it.
