Van Ort Services

About Van Ort Services

New London grew up around a dam on the Middle Fork of the Crow, and the sound of that water carries over the lawns near the river all summer long. Van Ort Services mows through the ground between town and the lakes, where cabins and year-round homes share the same shoreline roads. Grass near the water grows fast and lush, and it is trimmed back cleanly from docks, steps and shed corners so nothing is left looking half-attended. Ahead of Memorial Day the beds are raked clear of everything winter dropped in them; in October the leaves go before the first freeze locks them down. A kept yard here is part of the view, and the view is why people came.
