About 71 Aggregate

US 71 runs right through New London, and when a north wind takes hold of the open ground west of town the highway and every driveway off it fill in together. 71 Aggregate plows through that — lots opened, approaches cut back wide so the next storm has somewhere to go, walkways cleared to the door. Blizzard mornings in Kandiyohi County start early and stay dark a long while, and there is nothing better than headlights finding a lane already black and clear. Ice gets treated where people walk, and the banks get hauled back before they become the problem. Snow removal, start to finish, on a road that never gets a quiet winter.
