Spring Green

About Spring Green

April in Monticello is a held promise: snow shrinking back to the shade lines, the river running high and brown, the first green haze spreading across yards that were white two weeks before. Spring Green works the season it is named for and every green week after — mowing, trimming, and lawn care across town from that first thaw until the ground locks up again. Grass here comes back fast on the sandy river soil, hungry after the long cold, and early attention sets up the entire summer. Through June and July the visits find their rhythm, each one leaving lawns even, edged, and unmistakably kept. When a Monticello yard shakes off winter that completely, spring feels less like a season and more like an arrival.
