Jays Digging

About Jays Digging

Out past Montevideo the country flattens west toward Watson and Milan, and when the wind gets up in January it does not need new snow to blind a road, it just relifts what is already down. Jays Digging works that kind of winter, plowing driveways and lots, opening walks, and knocking back the drifts that build across every exposed approach. A hard west wind will refill a drive inside an hour, which is why clearing wide matters more here than clearing once. There is a real pleasure in a farmyard opened up after a two-day blow, gravel showing dark again from the road to the door. In this valley, getting out is the entire point of the season.
