The Social Landscape

About The Social Landscape

On summer nights the crowds drift down to the Lake Harriet bandshell with blankets and takeout, and the lawns of Linden Hills become front-row seats to the season. The Social Landscape tends yards for that kind of living — grass cut so it invites bare feet, edges kept neat along the walks where neighbors stop to talk. A good lawn in Minneapolis is social infrastructure: it hosts the graduation party, the toddler's sprinkler hour, the last bonfire of October. The work itself is mowing and trimming, week upon week, but the result is a place where people gather. That is the landscape worth keeping.
