About Field Outdoor Spaces

A Minneapolis lawn is measured in feet, not acres — a boulevard strip, a front square, a back yard shared with a garage and an alley. Field Outdoor Spaces works at that scale, where one ragged edge along the sidewalk is the entire first impression. Mowing runs a tight loop through the bungalow blocks, and trimming takes the fence posts, the stoop, the tree collar. In spring the beds are cleared of last year's leaves packed down into the mulch; in October the boulevard maples let go all at once between the curb and the walk. Done right, a small yard reads as generous, which is the trick this city has always asked of its green.
