Helke's Tree Service

About Helke's Tree Service

Marine on Saint Croix grew up around one of Minnesota's earliest commercial sawmills, built in 1839, and the remains of that mill still rest beside the creek below the village. On winter mornings the sun rises late over the Wisconsin bluffs across the river, laying long gold light over whatever fell in the night. Helke's Tree Service is a tree service that takes up snow removal in winter, so that light lands on drives and paths already opened. It fits a timber town, still looked after by hands that work outdoors. Commuters heading down the river road find the way clear, and the village keeps its old-time hush.
