Lawn Mark

About Lawn Mark

Walk the levee trail along the Minnesota River and the lawns backing up to it read like handwriting — some scrawled, some printed neatly. Lawn Mark is in the business of the second kind. Mowing stripes laid straight, edges scored crisp along the walks, the whole yard signed by the look of it. Winter turns the page: the same precision goes into plowed driveways and shoveled paths, dark lines set against the white. In a river town the water leaves its marks every spring; this crew prefers to leave its own, in green and in snow.
