About Cascade Maintenance Services

Lutsen sits in the narrow country between the Sawtooth ridges and Lake Superior, where the Poplar River comes down through the birch and the weather arrives off the water without asking. Cascade Maintenance Services works both halves of the year here — plowing driveways and lots when the lake throws a foot of heavy snow across Highway 61 overnight, then mowing and trimming through a short green season in which everything grows at once. Winter mornings begin in the dark with headlights on the banks, the aim being a driveway open before anybody has to think about it. Summer means cutting between the balsams, edging where lawn gives way to rock and duff, and clearing the yard in spring and again before freeze-up. Up the Caribou Trail or down toward Tofte and Grand Marais, the work stays the same and the view never gets old.
