About Melquist Enterprises

Section roads laid out for farms still run straight beneath the subdivisions here, and Baldwin Lake keeps its ring of trees the way it always has. Melquist Enterprises works along those lines right through the calendar — weekly mowing, string trimming, edged walks and driveway aprons, cleanups in spring when the beds come out of hiding and again in fall when the oaks finally let go. Winter hands the job to the plow: drives opened, walkways cleared, ice treated at the steps and out at the mailbox. There is a rhythm to it a person can grow fond of, yards learned by their slopes and their shade. The result shows from the road — a lawn with a true edge, a drive with nothing left on it.
