About Hawkins Companies

This corner of Anoka County sits on old sand plain, where bur oaks stand around in loose company and the ground drains fast after a rain. Late in October the light goes long and gold across those lawns, and Hawkins Companies is out ahead of it — mowing down the last flush of growth, blowing leaves out of the landscape beds, carrying the piles away before they mat into the turf. Come winter the same trucks run the long shared drives and cul-de-sac aprons of Lino Lakes, plowing, clearing walkways, treating ice at the doorstep. The pleasure of it shows in small things: a lawn striped even all the way to the property line, a turnaround opened wide enough to swing a car around in the dark. Ordinary work, done out to the edges.
