About Shepard Excavating & Septic Service LLC

At six on a below-zero January morning in Laporte, the air is so still that chimney smoke climbs in straight gray columns and snow squeaks under every boot. Shepard Excavating & Septic Service LLC is an excavating and septic business that also clears snow, and it brings the habits of that trade, heavy equipment handled with care, to driveways buried overnight. The plowing happens while the sky is still pricked with starlight and the frozen lakes nearby boom and groan as the ice thickens. When the sun finally clears the treeline, it lands on a drive scraped down and edged with neat, even banks. That first easy run out to the road is a small gift on the coldest mornings of the Hubbard County year.
