The St. Croix runs deep and cold below Lakeland, and most mornings the fog lies in the valley until the sun gets over the Wisconsin bank. Winter storms track up that river corridor and pile against the bluff, filling the steep driveways that drop away toward the water. Holm & Olson Landscape Design plows those drives and the lots along the highway, shovels the walks, and finishes before the bridge traffic on I-94 starts to move. In summer the same slopes become terraced river yards that want mowing, trimming and a clean edge where turf meets the drop-off. It is satisfying in both directions — pavement bare to the blacktop in February, grass cut to the bluff line in July.
