About Xceptional, Inc.

Late August, seven in the evening, and the light off Lake DeMontreville turns everything it touches to brass — including the lawns, which is where Xceptional, Inc. comes in. This is the hour that flatters good mowing: stripes laid straight, edges cut true, not a ragged pass anywhere. The company works the lake-chain neighborhoods and the broader Lake Elmo area through the growing season, mowing, trimming, and handling cleanups when the oaks let go in October. Grass is a modest canvas, but it rewards exactness the way water rewards calm. The aim each visit is a yard the owner half-wants to photograph. Most weeks, the evening light obliges.
