About A13

Lake City sits on Lake Pepin, where the Mississippi spreads into a wide blue lake between the bluffs, and where in 1922 a young man strapped boards to his feet and invented water skiing. A13 cares for lawns in this river town, where summer mornings come up still and glassy over the water. Yards here get the full sweep of Lake Pepin's weather: humid July heat, sudden storms down the valley, long golden afternoons. Through all of it, A13 keeps grass mowed even and edges crisp, so a home looks as composed as the lake on a calm day. A clean-cut lawn with sails drifting past beyond it is about as summer as Lake City gets.
