About Runestone Outdoor Services LLC / Stump Grinding

Kensington is the small Douglas County town that lent its name to the Kensington Runestone, the carved slab unearthed on a farm near town and debated by scholars ever after. Runestone Outdoor Services carries that name into everyday work: mowing and trimming lawns in summer, grinding out old stumps that have outlived their trees, and plowing drives when winter lays down its own heavy slabs of snow. Stump grinding turns a stubborn obstacle into level, plantable ground, and few changes in a yard feel so complete. In the rolling lake country here, wooded hills give way to open fields, and a clean yard sits easily between them. Whatever mystery the old stone holds, this work is plain to read.
