Blizzards and Blossoms

About Blizzards and Blossoms

The name tells you the truth about this place: Jordan is a town of two tempers. In January, clipper winds cross the open fields at the edge of town and pile the driveways shut; in May, the lilacs come on all at once and the mowing season opens like a door. Blizzards and Blossoms works both ends of that bargain — a plow on the truck for the white months, mowers in the trailer for the green ones. The measure of the work is simple either way: a driveway you can back out of before the coffee is done, a lawn that looks combed by Friday evening. One phone number covers the whole calendar. In a valley town that never does anything halfway, that is exactly the point.
