About Black Sheep Landscaping

The Des Moines River cuts a wooded seam through the prairie at Jackson, and the town leans down toward it in terraces of yards and old boulevard trees. Black Sheep Landscaping mows and trims along those slopes all summer, striping the flats and working carefully where the ground falls away toward the water. Fall cleanups follow the cottonwoods and maples down, and then the season flips hard. Winter on this side of the state is a wind event as much as a snow event, so the plow work is about opening drives and then keeping them open. Both halves of the year end the same way — a property that looks looked-after from the street.
