Jim's Tree Service

About Jim's Tree Service

Isle faces Mille Lacs, and the lake sends its weather straight up the bay into town — March wind scouring the ice, August squalls crossing twenty miles of open water with nothing to break them. Trees on this shore live a hard, handsome life, and they show it in leaning trunks and torn tops. Jim's Tree Service takes them as they are: removal for what the wind has finished, trimming and pruning for what still has years left, shaping cabin lots so the view and the shade can share the same ground. After a blow, clearing limbs off the road and the roof is the fastest way to make a place feel calm again. It is work with a clear finish line — a quiet afternoon, the water flat for once, and a yard that finally looks like the lake place it was meant to be.
