Peterson Lawn Services

About Peterson Lawn Services

Saturday morning in Hopkins, under the water tower, the post-war blocks wake to the sound of mowers and stay that way until noon. Peterson Lawn Services is out in it — cutting, edging along the drives, taking down the strip of boulevard grass everybody forgets until it is knee high. Yards on this grid are modest and close together, which means a crooked line shows and a tidy one gets noticed from three houses down. Fall brings the leaf work, and then the snow comes and the same routes turn into plowing and shoveled walks before people leave for work. Two seasons of outdoor upkeep, on the same familiar streets.
