Ice Dam Company

About Ice Dam Company

In Hopkins a February thaw is a mixed blessing: the sun softens the roof snow at midday, and by dusk the meltwater has crept down to the eaves and frozen solid again. Day after day that cycle builds a ridge of ice along the gutter line, and behind it water starts hunting for a way under the shingles. Ice Dam Company is built for exactly that moment, clearing heavy snow off roofs and breaking up the ice dams that form along the edges. On the older houses near Mainstreet as much as on newer roofs across town, that work keeps winter on the outside where it belongs. A bare roof edge and a gutter running free make a quietly satisfying sight on a cold Hopkins afternoon.
