About Helping Hands Outreach

Holdingford is one of the real Minnesota towns that inspired Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon, and the paved trail bearing that name runs right through it. In winter the place looks the part: chimney smoke rising straight up on a still morning, snow heaped on porch railings, the trail a long white ribbon leading out of town. Helping Hands Outreach does snow removal in Holdingford, clearing driveways, steps and sidewalks after a storm so people can get to the car, the mailbox and the neighbor's door. The work is measured in small, real victories: a walk scraped down to concrete, a step you can stand on with confidence, a front door that opens onto a clear path instead of a drift. It's the sort of winter morning Lake Wobegon would have been proud of.
