About Groundworks Landscaping and Hardscaping

Follow the Vermillion River through Hastings and you come to the falls behind the old mill, where the water drops into a limestone gorge and keeps moving no matter how cold it gets. Groundworks Landscaping and Hardscaping takes the same view of a snowy evening. When a storm sets in over the river towns, the crew is out opening drives, lots and sidewalks, breaking up the hardpack that forms at the foot of a slope and putting salt where ice likes to gather. Hastings falls quiet under a heavy snow, and there is something worth doing in that quiet — a stairway scraped to the tread, a walk squared off at its edges, a lot opened up before the doors unlock. Snow removal is the whole of the winter list here, and it gets done storm after storm.
