About Jed Smith Excavating & Septic, LLC.

The gales of November are not a legend in Grand Marais; they're a forecast. When one has passed and left the county buried, Jed Smith Excavating & Septic, LLC brings heavy equipment to the problem — machines sized for moving earth, set loose on snow instead. Long rural driveways, turnarounds, the deep hardpack berm a storm leaves at the road: work that would swallow a shovel gets handled in a few decisive passes. An excavator's habits serve well in winter — know where the culvert is, where the ditch drops, what the ground is doing under all that white. Out here, that knowledge is the difference between plowed and stuck.
