Southside Lawn and Snow

About Southside Lawn and Snow

September around Sweeney Lake is Golden Valley at its most generous — warm afternoons, cool nights, the water holding one last blue week of summer while the grass grows like it knows what's coming. Southside Lawn and Snow works both sides of that turn. In the green months it's mowing, trimming, and the long fall cleanup as the lakeshore trees let go; in the white months it's plow routes and shoveled walks under skies the color of tin. The pleasure of the job is the handoff itself — closing out a lawn in November and opening a driveway in December for the same house, the same family, the same wave from the window.
