About Jonathon McIver

Storms reach Glenwood from the west, up Highway 28 across open Pope County ground, and they usually arrive at an inconvenient hour. Jonathon McIver goes out into them: driveways plowed, approaches opened, walks and steps shoveled down clean, salt on the places where ice has crusted over. One person, one route, worked in order, which means a customer knows roughly when the headlights will show up. A lake town in February is dark early and bright late, and there is something steadying about the sound of a blade dropping at the end of a street. By morning the drive is open and the day can start on time.
