Glenwood is built on the side of a hill that runs straight down to Lake Minnewaska, and every winter that hill has opinions. Creative Curbing plows and clears in that terrain — driveways cut wide enough to back out of, walks shoveled to bare concrete, salt and sand on the pitches where a car would otherwise take the short way down. Wind comes across the lake ice and stacks snow against anything standing, so banks get pushed back before they can close a drive in. On a clear morning after a storm, with the drives open and Minnewaska white all the way to the far shore, the town looks like something on a postcard and works like something better.
