Lenes Sand & Gravel

About Lenes Sand & Gravel

A northwest wind with nothing in its way can move last week's snow across a Polk County road until the road is simply gone. Lenes Sand & Gravel is out before daylight on those mornings, plowing driveways and lots and opening a way through the drift that piled against the windbreak overnight. Plowing, cutting back drifts, hauling snow off a lot that has run out of room, and sanding the packed and glazed spots. The whole job is measured by whether somebody gets to work on time. There is nothing quite like a black driveway at first light with the banks squared up clean on both sides.
