About A13

Up on the bluff tops above Lake Pepin the wind never fully quits, and the grass grows into it, tougher and shorter and leaning. A13 mows that kind of ground in Florence township: weekly cutting, string trimming, edging, and the cleanups spring and fall demand. The pleasure of the work is a straight stripe run across an uneven lot, the kind that takes knowing where the ground dips before you get there. Below, the river widens into the lake and holds the light long after the ridge has gone into shadow. The yards up top get finished first, while there is still sun on them.
