About Fischers Outdoor Services

Fisher started life as Fisher's Landing, a steamboat stop on the Red Lake River where freight passed between riverboats and the railroad. In winter that river freezes into a quiet white road, and the wind comes across the open Polk County flats with nothing to slow it down. Fischers Outdoor Services takes on snow removal here, digging out drives and breaking up the hard-packed ridges the valley wind builds overnight. There is grit in that work and plenty of pride in the result: a clear path from the door to the road on a morning when the windchill sits well below zero. It keeps the town moving, the same way the river once did.
