About Ristaas Services

Fairfax stands on the black soil of Renville County, the land running level toward the Minnesota River valley a few miles south, grain trucks on the highway and elevators marking the town from far off. Ristaas Services works the lawns here — mowing, trimming, edging the walks and drives, and clearing away what spring and autumn each leave behind. This is dirt that grows anything you put in it, grass included, so July asks for a steady hand and a regular week. It is a genuinely good feeling to come off a yard with the lines laid parallel to the street and every clipping swept off the concrete. The fields keep their own kind of order out past the edge of town; a lawn is that order brought in close.
