About Low Impact Excavators Inc

Ely is the gateway town to the Boundary Waters, the last cluster of streets before more than a million acres of lakes and forest. Summer here is brief and bright, and Low Impact Excavators Inc spends it on lawn care, keeping yards mowed and trimmed between the black spruce and the shoreline. Grass this far north has a short window after ice-out to fill in, and steady attention is what turns it thick and even. On a July evening, with twilight lingering late over Shagawa Lake, a freshly cut lawn smells like the whole reason for a northern summer. It is a small, orderly clearing at the doorstep of the wild.
