Up North Earthworks

About Up North Earthworks

A name like Eagle View promises a wide sky, and the day after a blizzard that sky turns hard and brilliant blue over a countryside buried in white. Up North Earthworks, an earthworks outfit, offers snow removal here, putting its machines to work on rural driveways that a storm has erased. Watching a lane reappear foot by foot is a deep pleasure, the blade throwing a glittering arc off to one side. The cold bites, the engine hums, and overhead a bald eagle may be riding the same bright air. When the last pass is done, the road is reachable again and the countryside can get back to its business.
