About Northern Pines Landscaping & Design

East of Duluth the city thins into birch and spruce, and every yard becomes a negotiation with the forest that was here first. Northern Pines Landscaping & Design works that boundary — lawns mowed and kept where the pines allow, turf tended in the thin, acid soil the North Shore deals out. Grass at this edge of town grows against granite and needles, and helping it thrive takes attention more than force. The result reads like the region itself: dark evergreens above, cut green below, Lake Superior somewhere behind the trees. It is a landscape worth working with rather than against, and that is the whole approach.
