About Innovative Outdoors

Every September, tens of thousands of hawks stream down the shoreline past Hawk Ridge, riding the wind that funnels along Lake Superior — Duluth's great signal that the turn is coming. Innovative Outdoors reads the same sky. Fall cleanup begins as the broadwings pass: leaves off the turf, beds tucked in, the yard buttoned up ahead of freeze. Then the plow gear goes on the trucks, and the season's first storm meets driveways already spoken for. Summer, of course, is the long green prelude — steady mowing through the warm months — but this crew's favorite trick is the handoff, done so smoothly the seasons barely notice.
