Duluth Snow

About Duluth Snow

Lake Superior makes its own weather, and in December it spends that weather on Duluth — bands of snow riding in off water too big and too stubborn to freeze. Duluth Snow exists for exactly this arithmetic. While ice builds on the Canal Park piers, the trucks work the streets above, plowing driveways and clearing walks in the hours when the snowfall is still winning. The job is repetition with judgment: where to push, where to pile, how to leave a property usable at both ends of the storm. The lake will keep manufacturing winter; the plow will keep answering.
