All-Ashore

About All-Ashore

By January the big lake has gone white and solid, and the trucks roll out across Big Detroit Lake toward the ice houses before the sun clears the trees. All-Ashore is the outfit at the other end of that morning — the one that made sure your driveway was open before you ever turned the key. Snow in Becker County doesn't arrive politely; it comes sideways on a northwest wind and drifts hard against garage doors and mailboxes. Clearing it well means showing up early, cutting to bare pavement, and leaving a drive that holds its clean black line in the dark. From the lake streets of Detroit Lakes out to Audubon and Lake Park, that's the whole job, finished while the town is still asleep.
