About Northwoods Estate Services

Deer Lake runs to bays and points, and the lawns that come with them slope down through birch to the water's edge. Northwoods Estate Services keeps that green — mowing the open ground between cabin and shore, trimming close around dock posts, fire rings and rock outcrops, edging the paths that drop toward the lake. The northern growing season is short and generous at once; grass here does most of its living in ten quick weeks, and the mowing has to keep up with all of it. Cleanup comes twice a year: pine duff and winter blowdown in spring, needles and leaves off the turf before freeze-up. On a still July evening, with the lawn cut and the light going gold across the bay, it is hard to name better ground to work.
