Serpent Lake holds the middle of Crosby, and on a July morning the yards facing it get cut early — ahead of the heat, ahead of the boats. Owen's Lawn Care runs that route with mowing, string trimming, edging along walks and shorelines, bed and shrub upkeep, fertilizing, and the cleanups that bookend the season. Lakeside lots come with slope, shade and roots, so most of them finish with a bit of handwork no mower could ever manage. Crosby, Ironton, Deerwood and Riverton make up the regular ground.
