Brian's Tree Services

About Brian's Tree Services

Out here every tree stands where somebody put it on purpose: shelterbelts set in rows against the wind, a box elder for the yard, cottonwoods marking the old home places. Brian's Tree Services keeps those going around Cottonwood, pruning the belts so they stay thick down low where the drifting starts, and removing the ones gone hollow that have quit doing their job. There is nothing between here and the western horizon but section roads and sky, so when a summer storm crosses it arrives all at once, and the cleanup runs from the driveway out to the last downed row. The work near the lake in town is closer quarters, with wires, sheds and small yards leaving no room to be casual about a cut. A windbreak that has been looked after earns its keep every January, and you can read it in the snow that never reaches the door.
