Leustek Sand & Gravel Co

About Leustek Sand & Gravel Co

Chisholm sits up on the Mesabi with Longyear Lake right in the middle of it, and the season between the pit rims is short enough to make every week count. Leustek Sand & Gravel Co mows Range yards through that brief green run — the level town lots, the sloped ground where a lawn gives out into birch and brush. Trimming around foundations, posts and the shoulders of gravel drives finishes what the deck starts. Spring raking clears the sand and grit a Range winter scatters everywhere; the fall cleanup takes the leaves off before the ground locks up. Up here a good-looking lawn is a small, stubborn victory, and it is worth the trouble.
