Hartley Landscape

About Hartley Landscape

You hear it before you see it: the scrape of a blade two streets over, sometime after supper, while the snow is still coming down. Hartley Landscape takes on winter in Oxford Township, plowing driveways, clearing walkways and steps, and spreading salt where ice sets up under the drip line of a roof. Storms out here like to stall over the fields between Abbottstown and New Oxford and keep dropping long after the radar says they are finished, so one pass is rarely the end of it. The payoff arrives at dawn: a black driveway, a shoveled path to the door, a mailbox somebody can actually reach. Then back out for the next one.
