Traver Snowplowing

About Traver Snowplowing

There is a temperature at which snow squeaks underfoot, and Cambridge spends a good part of each winter below it. Traver Snowplowing goes out into those nights — twenty below, moon on the drifts, exhaust hanging in the air like breath — and moves the snow where it belongs. The business is plowing, purely: driveways opened, entrances pushed out, banks set back so the next storm has somewhere to go. In this county winter is not an interruption, it is the main event, and it rewards the people who show up for it. By sunrise the work is invisible except as absence: no snow where snow fell, just clean passage and a truck already gone.
