About DW Companies LLC

Four in the morning at the corner of Highways 65 and 95, and the only lights moving in Cambridge belong to the plows. DW Companies LLC runs snow removal through the hard middle of the Minnesota winter, when a clipper can drop six inches between supper and sunrise. Lots get opened, drives get pushed out, and by the time the town wakes up the snow is stacked in even banks at the pavement's edge. There is a craft to plowing — reading the wind, knowing where the drifts will rebuild — and it is learned one storm at a time. When the first cars roll out onto bare blacktop, that is the whole point of the night.
