About CatJo

At two in the morning the streetlights of Buffalo each hold a cone of falling snow, and somewhere under one of them CatJo is dropping a blade. This is a snow outfit, plain and single-minded: the storm is the job, and the job is done when the driveways and walks on the route are down to pavement. Quiet cul-de-sacs get opened before the school buses roll, and the banks get pushed back square so the next storm has somewhere to go. There is a particular satisfaction in finishing a route while the town is still asleep — leaving nothing behind but clean black driveways in all that white. CatJo works for that exact picture, every storm, all winter.
