About Paul Otterness Dock & Lift Services

In the Brainerd lakes country, November is a held note: the loons long gone, the water darkening toward freeze-up, the last docks and boat lifts coming out of lakes that will soon carry trucks. Paul Otterness Dock & Lift Services lives on that shoreline calendar. A dock and lift business knows the exact weight of the season's turn — and once the ice locks in and the snow starts stacking on the lake roads, the work shifts to snow removal, keeping driveways and lake-place entrances open through the deep of winter. There is a quiet pride in being the one who readies a shoreline for freeze and then keeps the way to it clear until thaw. From Brainerd out through the cabin country around it, the seasons hand the work back and forth, and it gets done.
