The Blue Earth River takes its time through town, cottonwoods leaning out over the water, and the bottomland holds moisture deep into a dry July when the uplands have already gone tan. Jim's Landscape reads those differences yard by yard — mowing at a height the grass can actually carry, trimming close around trees and posts, clearing away anything that would mat down. The river handed the town its name from the blue-green clay in its banks, and that dark ground grows a lawn that answers fast to steady care. There is real pleasure in a finished yard at the end of a hot afternoon: sharp borders, clean lines, everything squared to the walk. Blue Earth and the towns nearby keep that look right through the season.
