About CRESTVIEW PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

The cold arrives in Columbus off the marshes — Carlos Avery's tamarack and open water lie right there to the north, and a night wind crossing them can lay a foot of drift across a driveway by morning. CRESTVIEW PROPERTY MAINTENANCE is out in the dark ahead of that, plowing drives and lots and cutting the banks back square so the next storm has somewhere to go. The work is mostly headlights and steam and the scrape of a blade finding gravel. Walks get shoveled down to the concrete and treated, so the first person out the door at six is walking, not wading. By sunrise, when the sky over the bog goes that pale winter pink, the pavement is black and the day can start on time.
